An Ankara court sentenced Hosta Piknik doner chain’s owner Verdal Hosta to 10 years in prison on charges of membership to the Gulen movement.
Under pretrial arrest since January 2017, Hosta was given 10 years of jail time, state-run Anadolu news agency reported Feb 13.
Hosta Piknik was established in 1991 in Ankara and has a total of 45 franchisers across Turkey, including İstanbul, Bursa and Konya.
Turkish government accuses the Gulen movement of masterminding the July 15, 2016 failed coup and calls it a terror group while latter denies involvement.
