An İstanbul man who publicly protested Turkish interior minister Süleyman Soylu during an election rally on Sunday was detained by police, several media outlets reported.
The unidentified protestor protested Soylu’s criticism of the Felicity Party (SP) at a rally in the Üsküdar district. Soylu claimed the minor opposition SP “carried the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party [PKK] to parliament and sold off the nation” by means of a political pact with the Kurdish political movement in the legislature, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP).
Soylu reprimanded the man who criticized him, with footage of the incident circulating on social media.
The whereabouts of the man is currently unknown.
